Em 1925, fundou a <\/span><b>Companhia Editora Nacional<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, antecedida pela Editora Monteiro Lobato, que levou a capa ilustrada a outro patamar. O editor investiu em capas coloridas, com cores fortes e vivas e desenhos de artistas tipicamente brasileiros. Assim, Monteiro Lobato afirmou um estilo que j\u00e1 n\u00e3o era mais poss\u00edvel de ser confundido com o europeu ou norte-americano, na d\u00e9cada de 1920.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">J\u00e1 a escritora brit\u00e2nica <\/span><b>Virginia Woolf<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> fundou, ao lado de seu marido, Leonard Woolf, a editora <\/span><b>Hogarth Press<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">em Londres, no ano de 1917. O casal fazia parte do chamado Bloomsbury Group, um grupo de escritores, intelectuais e artistas ingleses que fizeram sucesso, principalmente, no in\u00edcio do s\u00e9culo XX at\u00e9 o fim da Segunda Guerra Mundial, defendendo ideais como o pacifismo e a import\u00e2ncia da arte. Al\u00e9m de publicar trabalhos dos membros do grupo, a Hogarth Press investiu na tradu\u00e7\u00e3o de literatura russa e apostou em nomes como Katherine Mansfield e T. S. Eliot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><b>Editora do Autor<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que publica a \u00fanica edi\u00e7\u00e3o brasileira do cl\u00e1ssico<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> O apanhador no campo de centeio <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(1965), de J.D. Salinger, foi fundada em 1960 pelo mineiro <\/span><b>Fernando Sabino<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> e pelo capixaba <\/span><b>Rubem Braga<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, dois proeminentes nomes da literatura brasileira. Mais tarde, eles a deixaram nas m\u00e3os de Walter Acosta, o terceiro s\u00f3cio. Hoje, apenas a obra-prima de Salinger e outros dois livros do autor permanecem no cat\u00e1logo que, anteriormente, publicara Clarice Lispector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Lygia Bojunga<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, escritora de literatura infanto-juvenil, publica seus livros atrav\u00e9s da <\/span><b>Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Cultural Casa Lygia Bojunga<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. A sede, junto \u00e0 casa da autora, \u00e9 destinada a desenvolver e apoiar projetos ligados ao universo liter\u00e1rio. Fundada em 2006, a editora tem o prop\u00f3sito de manter-se independente.
